Drugs
When a self-check-in is not enough
Needing more support is not a failure of character.
Safety first: alcohol withdrawal and withdrawal from some drugs can be medically dangerous. If you are a heavy or regular user, have had withdrawal before, or feel unwell when stopping, seek medical advice.
Consider professional help when
There is withdrawal, overdose, blackouts, dangerous mixing, major mood changes, repeated loss of control, or serious work, legal or relationship consequences.
Treatment is not one thing
Assessment, medication, counselling, mental-health care and practical support may all be part of treatment.
You still participate in the decision
Good care should explain options and involve you in a plan that fits your needs.
Use the tool: choose a realistic next interval, return and answer honestly. A NO does not erase previous choices. The timer is not a substitute for medical treatment.
