Stop Dependencies is designed to collect as little personal information as practical. Dependency, health and sexual-life information can be especially sensitive, so the public enquiry form is not a place for medical records or detailed histories.
Who controls the information?
For the website and direct programme enquiries, Stop Dependencies is the point of contact for data-protection matters. Privacy enquiries can be submitted through the contact form. Before any commissioned service begins, the applicable service agreement will identify the contracting legal entity and the parties' controller/processor roles where relevant.
The free check-in
The core timer and check-in are designed to work without an account. Active interval and simple check-in totals are stored in your browser using localStorage and are not transmitted by the core tool. Clearing this site's browser data removes those values from that device.
Enquiries
If you contact us, we process the contact details and information you choose to provide for the purpose of responding, considering suitability, arranging a conversation, or discussing a referral or commissioning requirement. Please send only the minimum information needed at this stage.
Special-category information
Information about health, and some information about a person's sex life or sexual orientation, can be special-category personal data under GDPR. Such information requires an Article 6 lawful basis and an applicable Article 9 condition before processing. The basis and condition used will depend on the actual service relationship and purpose; this website does not pretend that one basis automatically applies to every future service.
Service providers and transfers
Website hosting, security, email and form-delivery providers may process limited information on our behalf or as independent providers. We minimise what is collected and will review processor terms and international-transfer arrangements before using a provider for programme records or systematic sensitive-data processing.
Retention
Enquiries should be retained only for as long as needed for the enquiry, legal obligations and legitimate record-keeping. Programme or clinical records, if introduced, require a separate documented retention schedule appropriate to the service and professional obligations. We do not use the public website as a clinical-record system.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, GDPR rights can include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. You may also complain to Ireland's Data Protection Commission. A request can be started using the privacy contact above; identity may need to be verified before personal data are disclosed or changed.

This version does not require advertising cookies. Non-essential analytics or advertising technologies should not be enabled without first implementing the consent and transparency controls required for the technologies actually used.
